Vehicle Repair Videos

Here is a video on replacing the battery on my 2005 VW Touareg. I believe this is the same procedure for years 2004-2007. Using a battery maintainer is optional. However, if you don't know the pin code for your radio, it is highly suggested that you use the battery maintainer. If your battery went completely dead on you and your radio is asking for a pin code anyway and you don't know it, a battery maintainer won't help you. I made another video on how to get your pin code and putting it into your radio. In that video, I show you how to get out of safe mode. Safe mode basically locks the radio on you when you enter the wrong pin code more than two times. Here is a link to that video: http://youtu.be/jy0rREUHXnU As always, If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment, or you can e-mail me at sfmobilemechanics@yahoo.com. Here is an update video on the rear brakes. Previously, in another video, I was only able to change the pads and sensors because I didn't have the correct tool to remove the caliper bolts in the rear. Now that I have them, here is the conclusion. In this video, I go through the steps on how to remove and replace the brake pads, sensors, and rear rotors. As promised in the video, here is a link to the Touareg battery replacement video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMXaopZVCEk. The title basically says it all. This method is used for all VW's, Audi's, Porsche's, Bently's and most other vehicle manufacturers that have radio PIN codes. The SAFE mode procedure may be slightly different in other vehicle manufacturers, but in all VW's, Audi's, Porsche's, Bently's, etc. this is the same. In this video, I show you how to find your PIN code for your radio. I also show how to get out of SAFE (lockout) mode so you can enter your PIN. You need a few things and about literally 2-3 mins of free time. First, you need radio removal keys that fit your radio. If you don't have them, you can order them online. Without them, you can't do what I show you in this video. Those keys only cost $10 max. You need your radio serial number and VIN so you can call the dealer and have them give you the correct PIN. This is part 2 of the two part series. In this video, I show you how to change the rear brake pads and brake sensors. I don't change the rotors because they were actually still good. Also, there was an obstacle that I couldn't avoid, and that was the caliper bolts. They were 12 point 16mm XZN triple square bolts. I know right. So I actually place an order online for the tool. Once I get it, I'll be replacing the rotors and making a new video. So stay tuned. Please be sure to check out part one of this video series.
